How to create a Work Order
This tutorial provides information on the following topics:
The Work Order's Section Filter List
The navigation pane is located on the left side of the main program window, horizontally divided into two sections: Section Item Buttons and Section Filter.
The Section Item buttons are located beneath the Section Filter section. The Section Filter changes according to the Section Item Button selected. So, by selecting the 'Work Orders' button on the Section Items, you will display the Section Filter for Work
Orders.

The flow of Work Orders in the System is as follows:
New Work Orders |
Lists Work Orders that have been created and saved, but not yet issued to a Team |
Issued |
Lists Work Orders issued to one or more Teams via a Job Card |
On Hold |
Lists Work Orders put on hold. (Tick the 'On Hold' checkbox on
the Work Order form |
To Be Checked |
Lists Work Orders ticked off as 'Completed'. Check the totals and other details of the Work Order to ensure that they are correct. |
Ready for Invoicing |
Lists complete Work Orders ready for Invoicing. (Tick the 'Totals Checked' checkbox on
the Work Order form). |
Closed |
Lists Work Orders that have been Invoiced and Closed |
All Work Orders |
Lists every Work Order in the System |

Create a Work Order
Service Master assigns a unique id number to every Work Order in the system; therefore, preventing the duplication of Work Orders. Another advantage of each Work Order having its own
id number is the added efficiency when searching for Work Orders in the system
Creating a Work Order from the Site Address form
This method of creating a Work Order includes the Customer's Site Address automatically to the Work Order
- If the Customer's form is not open:
- Click the 'Customers' button on the 'Section Item list'

- Click the 'All' button on the Section Filter list

- Select the Customer in the List View Pane. Either open the Customer's form by right clicking the Customer
and selecting 'Open' from the menu, or simply double click the Customer's Account
in the List View Pane.

- Click the 'Site Addresses' tab on the Customer's form
- Select and open the Site Address. Open the Site Address by right clicking the Customer and either selecting 'Open' from the menu, or simply double click the Site Address in the Address Pane
- On the Site Address form, click the 'New' button on the form's toolbar. Follow the
drop down menu and select 'Work Order'
- You will notice that the Work Order includes the Site Address information.

- Enter the fault or a description of work that needs to take place. Normally this
is not the actual work that has taken place on a Job, but rather a general idea
of what the work entails.

- Additional items that can be added to the Work Order:
- Notes, which can be highlighted if necessary (clicking the 'Highlight Note' checkbox).
- The Customer's claim number
- Altered labour rates
- Click the 'Save and Refresh button' button.

- Because there has been no Team (i.e. Job Card) assigned to the Work Order, the Work Order will be
stored under 'New Work Orders' on the Section Filter list.

Create a Work Order from the Main Screen's toolbar
This method of creating a Work Order will produce a blank Work Order without any
additional information included.
- Click the 'New' button on the main screen's toolbar and Select 'Work Order' from
the Menu.

- The New Work Order will be displayed on the screen

- Select the Customer Site Address from the drop down list provided in the 'Customer'
field

- Enter the fault or a description of work that needs to take place. Normally this
is not the actual work that has taken place on a Job, but rather a general idea
of what the work entails.
- Additional items that can be added to the Work Order:
